BEQs at Twentynine Palms - Package 9
The Twentynine Palms Base Exterior Architecture Program focused on sustainability, integration of new and existing facilities, and pedestrian, vehicular, and emergency vehicle circulation. The arrangement of spaces balances passive and active recreation by pairing like uses. Active uses are located near each other to encourage group functions and camaraderie. Likewise, passive activities are located together to provide an opportunity for users to engage in less programmed pastimes. Gathering areas with seating, shade, and outdoor cooking equipment were provided throughout the passive and active areas. The landscape integrates drainage swales, basins, and slopes to facilitate retention and filtration for on-site water and erosion control.
